Day 1: Arrival in Delhi

Upon arriving in Delhi, you will be taken for a brief sightseeing tour of Delhi to places like, the famous Qutab complex, lotus temple and the landmark India gate. Later you will be transferred to New Delhi railway station where you will board the train to Bodhgaya for an overnight journey.

Day 2: Bodhgaya arrival and sightseeing

Upon arriving at this holy city early in the morning, you will immediately be checked in to your allotted hotel after which your sightseeing of this holy Buddhist pilgrimage destination will commence. You will be made to visit the famous 3rd century Mahabodhi mandir, which houses a descendant of the Bodhi tree under which Buddha had attained his enlightenment. Next you will be taken back to your hotel for staying the night.

Day 3: Bodhgaya – Rajgir – Nalanda – Bodhgaya

Your full day of excursion to Rajgir and Nalanda will commence in the morning after breakfast. These are two of the most highly revered Buddhist pilgrimage site. You will be made to visit Gridhakuta – Buddha’s favourite retreat spot form where he gave numerous discourses; next you will be taken to the Buddhist cave sites of Saptaparni caves; ajatshatru fort will be your next destination – which is a 6th century structure built by king Ajatshatru.

You will then be guided to one of the oldest university of the world – nalanda (5th century); where Buddha gave lectures on the teachings of Buddhism making it one of the most sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site.

Finally after all this you will be guided back to your hotel in Bodhgaya where you will be spending the night.

Day 4: Bodhgaya – Varanasi

You will be made to proceed towards Varanasi early in the morning after breakfast. After completing a journey of 6 hours you will be arriving in one of the oldest living cities in the world. After getting checked in to your allotted hotel you will be taken for an excursion to one of the most highly revered Buddhist pilgrimage site of Sarnath – the place where Buddha gave his very first sermon after attaining enlightenment. There are numerous stupas present in and around the area which holds immense relevance to the life and times of Buddha.

Finally you will be made to head back to your allotted hotel in Varanasi.

Day 5: Varanasi – Kushinagar

Your morning time will commence by witnessing a rejuvenating sun rise via a boat ride on the holy River Ganga. after having your breakfast you will be made to head towards Kushinagar – the place where Buddha took his last breath and attained Mahaparinirvana. You will be duly checked in to your hotel upon your arrival at Kushinagar. After this you will be taken on a sightseeing tour of Kushinagar, including Ramabhar Stupa – the place which houses the ashes of Buddha. You will also be taken to Natha Kumarka Kot – which houses a large statue of Buddha in a state of Buddha.

Later you will be made to head back to your hotel for staying the night.

Day 6: Kushinagar – Lumbini – Shravasti

Your journey towards Shravasti will commence early in the morning while stopping en route at Lumbini – birth place of Buddha. You will be made to worship at an ancient Buddhist shrine.

Upon arriving at Shravasti you will be immediately checked in to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 7: Shravasti – Lucknow – Delhi (departure)

At Shravasti you will be made to visit the holy sites of Sahet Mahet – an ancient kosala kingdom and active centre for Buddhism. Later you will be driven to Lucknow from where you will be made to board a train to Delhi. Upon arriving at Delhi, you will be headed towards the airport from where your Buddhist pilgrimage will conclude and you will carry on with your journey onwards.
